Voting Initiative & Brothers’ Engagement (VIBE), Black Child Development Institute (BCDI)-Atlanta, and Fathers Incorporated have come together to launch Dad & Me - a civic engagement project featuring black fathers conducting virtual storytime with young children and emphasizing the importance of Census and voter registration and participation, throughout June 2020 - the month of Father’s Day.

Goals:

  • To increase the count of black men and their children in the 2020 Census.
  • To increase voter registration and participation among black men.
  • Share resources and strategies for positively engaging black fathers in civic activities.

Established in 1981, Black Child Development Institute (BCDI)-Atlanta coordinates community programs and initiatives, throughout the state of Georgia, supporting three key focus areas - early care and education, literacy, and family engagement.
